Huge Serraguemines majolica wall plaque number 2300 .
This huge and rare to find majolica wall plaque was made in France by Sarreguemines, during the 19th century and features a gentleman holding a tankard of beer in one hand and a smoking pipe in the other, with a cheerful expression.
An absolute gem, find another one! This will look amazing on your wall gallery. Also perfect wall decor for a pub or gentleman's club.
The plaque is in good antique condition; it has a few chips to the glaze on the man's shirt, some tiny chips to the glaze on the hat and shows age and crazing, but still in one piece. No chips or cracks to the plaque.
The foot rim has been factory pierced to enable the piece to be hung on a wall .
Diameter 20.4'' or 52 cm approx.
Weights 4.5 kg approx.
This stunning wall plaque displays beautifully and would be a wonderful addition to a collection of antique French pottery. A striking object sure to be a decorative focal point wherever it is displayed.
