In Pike Fishing, two English gentlemen are fishing in pastoral surroundings. Both elegantly dressed in coats and top hats ; one man stands on the edge of the embankment at a bend in a river holding a rod, while his companion lies prone on the ground, holding a net.
This print was part of the series The National Sports of Great Britain, 50 colour plates that also included depictions of hawking, hunting, equestrian sports and other sporting subjects.
This antique rare engraving would make a wonderful statement in your home ; a very British and original piece of art .
Condition; the engraving is in very good condition for age ,some yellowing to the paper around the printed area .The antique frame shows some age and wear .The colours may vary slightly on the pictures .
