Medium: Stipple engraving and etching.
Condition; the plate dates to C 1780 and shows some wear, but overall very good. The frame shows light wear and it was added at a later date C 1980's.
It's quite difficult to take pictures to reflective surfaces like glass ; the engraving looks even better in reality ; a genuine and very elegant piece of art. The frame was probbably
H 52.5 or 20.7'' approx.
W 42 cm or 16.2'' approx.
Maria Anna Angelika Kauffmann RA (30 October 1741 – 5 November 1807), usually known in English as Angelica Kauffman, was a Swiss Neoclassical painter who had a successful career in London and Rome. Remembered primarily as a history painter, Kauffmann was a skilled portraitist, landscape and decoration painter.
