Large Art Deco Brockwitz Fruit Bowl Centrepiece With Dolphin Handles 1930's German Pressed Glass

An stunning oval glass bowl, with twin tri-point rim flares and four ribbed, snail shaped feet. The bowl is decorated with sweeping, relief moulded flower sections, stylised leaf shapes and step panels. The handles are modelled as dolphins .
Late 1930s to early 40s, made by Brockwtiz, catalogued as "9076A Fruchtschale", design attributed to Fritz Scheiner. 15½in/39.4cm wide, 5in/12.7cm high.
Condition: Excellent,a couple of light tiny scratches inside the bowl.
Very heavy.
The Brockwitz factory was established in 1903 in the town of Brockwitz (near Dresden), Germany. For several years, starting around 1915, Brockwitz produced a large range of Carnival Glass. In the 1930's and 1940's, Brockwitz made some fantastic Art Deco glassware, most of which was featured in their large 1941 catalogue.
