Art deco Period Arabella Blue Frosted Glass Flower Frog by Walther & Söhne Made in Germany during the 1930s.
Arabella stands gracefully with arms lifted, holding a scalloped shell behind her head, her figure emerging from swirling waves accented by an intricate fish motif at the base. The flower frog features eight evenly spaced holes along its outer ring, perfect for arranging flower stems.
Condition; Rare surviving flower frog in very good condition, from Walther & Söhne’s celebrated Art Deco production. Originally, this would have included a matching bowl for the flower frog to sit in. This listing is for the Arabella flower frog only, without the bowl.
Introduction to Walther & Söhne Glass
Walther & Söhne was founded near Dresden in 1888 and became one of Germany’s leading glassmakers in the early 20th century. The company is best known for its 1930s Art Deco designs, producing vibrant pressed glass figures, bowls, and trinket sets in frosted and clouded finishes. Their innovative "Oralit" range and bold use of colour made them a major name in decorative glass until production shifted after World War II.
