Mid Century tall water carrier lady figure from Royal Wessex Swinnerton Potteries.
This figurine was designed by Gordon Bradley for Royal Wessex.
It shows a water nymph carrying a large bowl on her shoulder. She is draped in a flowing shift and wades through stylized wave forms. these forms are also studded with four-petal flowers.Her hair is partially held up in a bun and the rest flows down over her back.
The wide half-spherical bowl is deep and may have been designed to hold candy.
Classical in style, the figure is perhaps a depiction of Spring.
Mould-made in white clay, the figurine is finished in a semi-transparent olive green glaze.
the figurine is 260mm tall. the base is 120mm at it's widest and the bowl is 100mm in diameter approx.
Condition; very good, minor wear.
